Treasure Hunt- Convo 2014

Maggi Goreng in Treasure Hunt again!
This year, we are Final Year students.
As promised from last year, we took part in Treasure Hunt again
with the aim on First Prize: RM500.

Woke up early morning on Sunday, feeling so 'what the hell' to leave the bed,
had a quick breakfast in McD (padahal sarapan sudah disediakan LOL),
then gathered at oval park while spotting lots of Final Year students took part.

Anyway, this year there were just 25 groups participant in total.
Total of 5 checkpoints around Perak (padahal is Ipoh Bandaraya<->Gopeng only).

We, Maggi Goreng group was assigned to Colony 5.

#1st Checkpoint: Taman Rekreasi Sultan Abdul Aziz (Padang Polo)

After the long drive from UTP, we were half asleep except driver.
Luckily, we had the kiasu ZT who shouted out 'Maggi Goreng, GO GO GO!' to cheer us up.

The task was pretty simple but the instructions was confusing.
First, find the spot in Padang Polo as shown in the given blurred photo then step here there to whatever directions and get the problem to solve.
We were so rush till we were the first to finish task.

So you guess it's done? Not Yet.
The win/lose was determined by how fast you drink up the so called 'advantage ginger drink'.
(padahal we were told only while ginger juice was half drank.)

Thanks to GYX who volunteered himself cause he thought it was just sweet drink.

#2nd Checkpoint: Homestay Gopeng
This time, all the 5 groups in Colony 5 travelled together to the next checkpoint.
Thanks to Waze app, we almost found the checkpoint without any problem.

The task was quite tiring this time.
Mendulang Bijih Timah (Manual Tin Mining)
Without having any idea how bijih timah looks like, we stepped into the small river.
Luckily, we were given professional demonstration from Mak Cik on the method of traditional Mendulang.

Bending in the river with dulang in both hands, it was hard to find the tempo to create the water swirl that will carry the sand out leaving tin (in sand size) behind.
Mak Cik said we were the No.1 group even though we just got small amount of bijih timah produced.

#3rd Checkpoint: Break The Code, Ipoh
We thought only in our dream that treasure hunt checkpoint would be there.
On the way to checkpoint, we were still doubting.
Hell yea, our task was to play the first room of 'Detective' in Break The Code.
Locks were opened in wrong sequence but we managed to score full marks.

# 4th Checkpoint: Museum Gopeng
Task: Find the object in the museum based on the closed up shot picture given.
Picture given:
As time pass by, we were getting so worried cause we couldn't find that object.
It looks like a fire stuff put on the floor/ sewing machine/ ceiling bulb/ etc.

The real object found:
HELL Yea!
Did you know how many old oil lamps over there in the museum?

Anyway, we succeed in 18mins though.

# 5th Checkpoint: Ipoh Street Arts
Due to time constraint, we just need to get at least two shot of the wall murals from the clues given
within 5 mins.
Criteria of photo shot: All members must be inside the photo.
Selfie Time!

Camera on timer, say cheese~

Shot 2
Wrong mural! Next!

Shot 3

(Raw photos from camera, no edit)
Basically, the photos looked tilted, wrong angle, stupid pose, half of ZT face, etc.

So, after completed all checkpoints, back to UTP for final task.

"The winner for treasure hunt would be decided solely based on final task conducted."
Task: Find the '+', '-', 'x',etc, symbols around Pocket D ground floor to complete the eqn with numbers collected from checkpoints.

So, we found '-', 'sq root', '()' only.
In the end, we face the lost in this final task.

(Kinda unfair, judging method should be from average score from whole day.)
(Unlike last year, no consolation prize given.)

Mood a little bit down but we did learn something.
Happiness should be shared among all, then only it is consider more.
Anyway, we enjoyed all the process for whole day, great experience gained.

Lastly, we went for Dominos to cheer up and gain calories.

Maggi Goreng, GO GO GO!
